ABOUT JERRY HARKE
The second photography book, In Sappho's Secret Garden: A Thesaurus of Love, explored the beauty of sapphic love. Harke's third book presents 408 pages of classical black and white nude figure art and is titled Nu Art en Noir et Blanc. His fourth photography book, Real Red-heads au Naturel ... at Home!, was released in mid-2010, and following that, another photography book called Beauty Revealed is sheduled for release in early 2011. Harke's written works include three novels. The first, Lock Knot, is a spy thriller set during World War II. On Hell's Doorstep, is an epic drama of murder, romance and numerous twists of fate during The Great Depression.
Jerry Harke is a professional photographer and author of novels. He and his wife, Kathleen, reside in Northern Virginia, a short distance outside of Washington, D.C. His first published book of photography was called The Edwardian Lawn Dress: Gentle and Timeless.
The third book is called Episodes. Set in 1978, it involves a serial killer acting out his crimes in mid-America during a time of pronounced social unrest there.
His work has appeared numerous times in gallery exhibitions including Artomatic in Washington, D.C., the Julia Petrova Art Gallery in Tirol, Austria, the artDC Gallery, the Cheryl Davis Art Gallery and the Design Studio Art Gallery, all three in Hyattsville, Maryland; Gallery Provocateur in Chicago, Illinois, Del Ray Artisans in Alexandria, Virginia, the Village Plaza Art Gallery in Fairfax, Virginia, the MOCA DC Art Gallery in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., and the Creighton Davis Art Gallery in Naples, Florida. He has a permanent exhibit at Cafe Tatti in McLean, Virginia and was a 2010 show sponsor for the Seattle Erotic Art Festival in Seattle, Washington.
Harke is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, the Arlington Arts League, Arlington, Virginia and The Art League, Inc., of Alexandria, Virginia
